GENERAL
LECTURES
"Rubber-izing
Your Face"
This class will have you sharpening your biggest Comedy tool...your face! People
have asked Dan for years how he got Earl's face to be so expressive. Fact is,
Dan's face is no more expressive than anybody else’s...He's just designed his makeup
to show off these movements off instead of hiding them.
In class, we look at our
faces and determine the unique anatomy, structure and movement of our individual
faces and look at ways of adapting and adjusting your current makeup to
exaggerate these movements. Hands-on makeup workshop. It’s not a
"makeover" class, but simply fine-tuning what you already have. Bring
your makeup and a mirror.
"Don’t
just STAND there!"
Even when you’re not speaking, your body speaks VOLUMES about you on stage.
What you’re thinking. How you’re feeling. That's not only important to
Clowns and Mimes, but to ANYONE who appears in front of an audience! This class
will focus on how movement affects your character and what it says to your
audience...and making sure it says what you WANT!
While not an actual "mime" lecture, it will also discuss
getting a storyline across, using props with pantomime and other non-verbal
communication. Every little movement you make works either for or against you.
Let’s make it work FOR you! This class requires LOTS of open space...and
comfortable clothes!
"Professional
SHOWmanship"
This fun workshop looks at making you the best entertainer you can possibly
be. How to turn a "performance" into a "SHOW!"
Although directed mainly at Magicians, there is an abundance of wonderful
information here for anyone who gets on stage. Presented to marvelous
reviews as part of the SPS Magic Secret Ingredient Seminars. If you're ready to
move to the next level in your performance...THIS is how you do it!
"Magical
Creativity"
Taking a good look at your Magic Act, how different is it REALLY
from what everybody else is doing? Dan was recently introduced at a
magician's conference "one of the funniest and most creative guys
I've ever met in this business." (And, he didn't even pay
the M.C. to say that!) In this lecture, he'll discuss ways to punch
up your existing act, offer fresh presentation ideas for older effects and
inspire you to look at things from a whole new (and CREATIVE) angle!
MINISTRY LECTURES
"Gospel and
Greasepaint"
This is a basic Clown Ministry lecture which looks at the differences between
Christian and Secular Clowning. This class talks about the importance of
both these parts; making sure there is a strong, easily understandable message
and making sure it's FUNNY! Includes performances of Dan’s "Candy
Wrapper" Gospel Routine, "A Can of Sin," and a few others.
"The
Clothesline Concept"
First presented in 1997, this lecture discusses the sure-fire method that
Dan uses for writing Gospel Magic routines and Clown Ministry Skits.
Presently includes a skit structure for and performance of "The Good
Samaritan" but subject to change.

"Gospel
Magic 4 Dummies"
So, you want to do some Gospel Magic but you're all thumbs, haven't a clue what
a thumb tip is and couldn't shuffle a deck of cards if you tried? No problem!
Magician and Comedian Dan Wolfe can't either, but he's teaching this lecture
anyway.
In it he'll explain about a dozen Magic Tricks, large and small, which
can be used to share the Gospel during your presentations. Even though Dan's
been doing Magic professionally for over 25 years, his style doesn't assume that
you know ANYTHING about it and teaches you EVERYTHING from the ground up. David
Copperfield need not apply.

Gospel Magic 4 Dummies"
So, you’ve got some idea of what you’re doing as far as magic goes, and have
raided your local Magic Shop. You’ve got the stuff, but WHAT do you do with it
all? Dan shows you some of his favorite gospel applications for tricks you
probably already own. He’ll also show you a few effects that you can easily
build yourself and the different ways they can be used for the furthering of His
Kingdom. Dan’s magic is ALWAYS mixed with a healthy helping of humor and he’ll
discuss the ways he incorporates the three concepts of magic, comedy and the

When presenting a message, a performer in our unique situation must not only
entertain. A good presentation will also touch the hearts of the audience. Dan
has been doing exactly that for almost ten years and now tips his hand on his
little secrets. He’ll discuss the various approaches to comedy routines, the
"Awww Factor," acting ability (and how to fake it) and the use of
music and pacing to make your presentations into something that your audience
will never forget.
