FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE To: ALL LOCAL MEDIA From: «First Name» «Organization» «Phone» Re: Dan Wolfe to present “The Nativity” (423) 477-7724 www.dwolfe.com Christian Humorist Dan Wolfe will present his Christmas Concert of “The Nativity” at «Organization» in «Location» on «Concert Date». Taking a look at the Christmas story from a slightly different point of view, Wolfe’s “Nativity” Concert promises to provide light-hearted humor and holiday inspiration at the same time. Since creating this program in 1991, it has become a perennial audience favorite. Wolfe became a Christian ten years ago and now uses his unusual gifts of Comedy, Magic and Pantomime to glorify the Lord and point out God’s divine sense of humor. Traveling the world to present his unique Ministry, Wolfe has logged nearly a million miles to reach audiences in Churches, theatres and anywhere he can. “You never get used to living on the road,” Wolfe says. “When the Bible says to ‘Go ye into all the world,’ I didn’t think I’d have to cover it all personally! But if that’s what the Lord wants from me, I’ve always got my bags packed.” During his visit to «Organization», Wolfe will present "The Nativity" which he describes as being a kind of one-man Christmas Pageant featuring his renown Tramp Mime character, “The Amazing Earl.” In “The Nativity,” he portrays each character in the story as told in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke; bringing out the human side of each and providing hilarious insight into the birth of Jesus Christ. “It’s pretty straight-forward,” Wolfe explains. “But I do add a few twists. For instance, during the trip to Bethlehem Mary is described as being ‘great with child.’ It couldn’t have been a comfortable trip. And then going into labor in a stable of all places! And they didn’t even have LaMaze back then.” Wolfe also describes the Shepherd's "flock" which consists of a single obstinate sheep who flatly refuses to take orders. The Wise Men, who are all rolled into one during his portrayal, follow the star and arrive with their gifts for the Christ Child. They’ve got the Gold and Frankincense, but apparently aren’t completely sure what Myrrh is. “Not many people are,” Wolfe adds. At the end of the presentation, Wolfe’s character visits the manger as himself for a touching postscript that brings home the true meaning of Christmas; effectively calling his audience to focus on what the Season is all about. And in the tradition of Red Skelton and Charlie Chaplin, he does all this without ever saying a word. Wolfe’s talent for merging humor and inspiration has also put him in great demand as a teacher; presenting lectures on ministering through magic and humor at many conventions each year. He’s also been recognized by the PA/Ohio/New York/Ontario Comedians Association as “Best Overall Male Entertainer” for an unprecedented four years in a row. "I’ve always liked what Saint Francis of Assisi said." Wolfe quotes, “Preach the Gospel all the time. If necessary, use words.” Dan Wolfe will be presenting “The Nativity” on «Concert Date» to the «Organization» in «Location» at «Time». A freewill offering will be taken to support Wolfe's Ministry. The public is invited to come, worship and laugh.
